Brick, brIcK, I am a brick.
Is a material-based artistic research on how to ‘unbrick’ a brick. Where the plaster molded brick in the hands of two performers tries to answer to this question.
S. Ahmed speaks about citations are like bricks, the more you repeat them the more solid they become. She uses the brick wall as a metafoor for institutional racial structures where the ones who try to changed them keeps banging there head against the brick wall.
Being a feminist means citing the other and making a change. Often this means being a feminist killjoy. Where during family dinners you put an unwelcome brick on the table.
How can we take this solid wall down? I am a brick, that one brick in a bigger wall, and what if we could all take our brick and unbrick?
